Our faculty, staff and students are at the heart of the cardiovascular technology program.
Lourie White, BA, MA, is the program coordinator for the cardiovascular technology major and advises students from the first day of new student orientation through graduation. She works closely with USC faculty members and local hospital administrators to ensure that students are competitive applicants for professional certification and postgraduate professional schools.
Lydia Matesic, Ph.D., is the program director for the cardiovascular technology program. Dr. Matesic has a background in the basic science foundations required to be successful in the cardiovascular technology program and is committed to using those skills to help decrease the socioeconomic burden on cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death globally. Her research interest focuses on a gene that regulates the structure and function of the heart.
Faculty members in the cardiovascular technology program come from the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences, and they consistently rank among the finest in the world for their outstanding teaching and research efforts. As a cardiovascular technology major, you will work closely with faculty members in our state-of-the-art research facilities.
Your advisor will help you build a program of study that meets your interests and goals. Your advisor will also monitor your progress toward your degree and, in collaboration with the university’s career center, will guide you in your career choices.
